Bad Boys....featuring Sean Penn

So I rented this movie called Bad Boys. No it isn't the one with will smith, where they take down all the drug lords in Miami. This is an older movie directed by Rick Rosenthal. The movie takes place mostly in a jail for kids. There are all types of kids in this jail, whites, Jews, blacks, and Latinos. The thing that I thought about after watching this movie. Is that all the different types of ethnicity's in the jail all were portrayed in basically the same manner. I mean of coarse they make some of the characters to seem much worse then others, but none of the characters were made look good. I liked the fact that all of the characters were portrayed this way. Can you think of any other movies where all different races are portrayed in the same fashion?

Minoritites in Video Games

I,ve realized that I have thought alot about minorities in television and in film, but not in video games. And now that I think of it, there is alot. For example in the new Call of Duty, you can play as this Russian character. He is portrayed as much to the extreme as anyone could ever. He talks with the sickest accent , seems extra violent and drinks a shitload.

Also in another game series, Grand Theft Auto, you always seem to be a minority. Wheater you are also a Russian immigrant or an African American. Also in this game series, they are portrayed to the max.

Can you think of any video games out there that have minorities in them that don't really portray them at all to any extreme.

I realize that this was a long time ago, but was thinking of it lately and felt it was an interesting topic. I would love to know how many african americans voted for Obama for the sole reason that he is black. Im sure there is some study out there going on right now about this fact alone. I mean I voted for Obama, but I only did it because I felt he was the best of the two candidates. Do you think that if he was white that he would of had the exact same chance of winning then being black?

The Cleavleand Show?

As you probably already know, Family Guy is going to have a spin off show for Cleveland. Ive read a lot of people saying that this show seems like it is going to be really boring because a lot of people aren't that interested in Cleveland's character very much. And a lot of people that wrote about it said that they would of loved to see a Quagmire spin off instead. This got me thinking. Family guy has put more racial stereotypes and has crossed the line harder then any TV show Ive come across. Is there something that the writers for Family guy are trying to make up. Maybe they have crossed the line one to many times and think making a show based around a black family will help them look a little less racist. I sure hope not. Family guy is too dam good of a show to just give in to the socially acceptable norms that some people see. I really want to think that they wouldn't stoop to this level. But who knows, anything is possible. Do you think that this spin off show is trying to make up for anything Family Guy has done in the past?

Kanye West.....Relax!!!

I usually don't watch television such as the MTV video music awards, but I came home tonight and my roommate was watching it. The first thing I see is Kanye West making himself look like an even more douche then he already is. Taylor Swift had just won an award and when she got up on stage to receive it, Kanye goes up and takes her mic before she can say her thanks. He then goes on a rant real quick on how he thinks Beyonce made the best video. I wondered in my head if this was some kind of race issue. It just looks like it because he is going up there to take the mic away from the whitest girl on earth and takes it to say how Beyonces video is so great. She happens to be black. I'm not sure if this is the reason why he did it, but either way it looks this way. Do you think race has any motivation in Kanyes bullshit rant? I'm not sure myself, but he seems like a piece of shit.
