Dont be a menace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood

When I was a kid my friends and I loved the movie, Dont be amenace to south central while drinking your juice in the hood. This flick is absolutely ridiculous and stresses black stereotypes to the absolute extreme. It is a great movie and is hilarious, butthis isnt a surprise because it was written by the wayans brothers. It basically brings different black urban stereotypes to humor and it works perfectly. A great quote by a police officer basically tells it all in this outrageous movie

You ain't so tough now, little nigga. I hate your black bastards, you *stink*! I hate your black skin. I hate your black pants. I hate black pepper. I hate black keys on a piano. I hate my gums, because they're black. I hate Whoopi Goldberg's *lips*. I hate the back of Forrest Whittaker's neck. Huh? Most of all, I hate that black-ass Wesley Snipes.

Can yu guys think of any other films that revolve around some type of race and their stereotypes that are humorous?

South Park is Back

The new season of South Park is upon us. There have been two episodes and they have both been really good. South Parks humor much like other humor revolves around offensive material. The first episode is a spin off of the movie The Sixth Sense, with Ike. But instead of seeing dead people he is seeing dead celebreties. Since there have been a high number of celebrity deaths this is a good topic. Some of the people included in the episode were Billy Mayes, D.J. AM, and even Michael Jackson. There were also many more to name. I think that the more offensive the humor is, the better the show is overall. Do you think that there is a line between offensive and funny. If so where is that line? Personally I dont believe the line should exist if it does.

Cool Advertising Technique

This is a picture of Donatos pizza in Columbus Ohio. They have taken their advertisement to a new level. This is a replica a little larger then the actual pizza they serve. But Is very life like and is even agled at the pizza shop so that it looks like the steam is actually coming off the pizza billboard. This is a cool advertising technique that doesnt cost a whole lot extra. I can think of some other places that have taken on advertising techniques such as these. Can you think of any other cool advertising techniques used by places these days?

Blind,black,white supremacist

This skit by Dave Chappelle has broughten comedic racism and stereotypes to a whole new level. This skit is about a blind black man who thinks he is white. He is also one of the leading members of the Klu Klux Klan. but others dont know he is black and think he is white. The reporter tries to tell him that he is really white and the black man doesnt believe him. The whole video is him going off on how black people and all other races are bad, hitting every stereotype in the book. It is really ridicuolous and you need to watch and see . Here is a link to the video. This is the first skit of the Chappelle show and this is what kicked off Dave Chappelles carrer.

The Racial Draft

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=349514

This link is to a video from one of my favorite comedians, Dave Chappelle. Basically in this video there is a draft where the different races get to choose different important people from around the world. This video pushes stereotypes and makes fun of all races. Dave does a great job of making fun or everyone. Some funny examples that the video shows are Tiger Woods getting chosen by the black people, then he looses all of his endorsement deals because of being black. Another good one is when the Jews choose Lenny Kravitz, then they say he's not there and that he's in Miami Beach, and how he must of gotten the news of being Jewish early. The video touches many different races. They also make the characters look to the extreme of that racial group. Dave Chappelle is probably one of the best racial comedians there is.

Bad Boys....featuring Sean Penn

So I rented this movie called Bad Boys. No it isn't the one with will smith, where they take down all the drug lords in Miami. This is an older movie directed by Rick Rosenthal. The movie takes place mostly in a jail for kids. There are all types of kids in this jail, whites, Jews, blacks, and Latinos. The thing that I thought about after watching this movie. Is that all the different types of ethnicity's in the jail all were portrayed in basically the same manner. I mean of coarse they make some of the characters to seem much worse then others, but none of the characters were made look good. I liked the fact that all of the characters were portrayed this way. Can you think of any other movies where all different races are portrayed in the same fashion?

Minoritites in Video Games

I,ve realized that I have thought alot about minorities in television and in film, but not in video games. And now that I think of it, there is alot. For example in the new Call of Duty, you can play as this Russian character. He is portrayed as much to the extreme as anyone could ever. He talks with the sickest accent , seems extra violent and drinks a shitload.

Also in another game series, Grand Theft Auto, you always seem to be a minority. Wheater you are also a Russian immigrant or an African American. Also in this game series, they are portrayed to the max.

Can you think of any video games out there that have minorities in them that don't really portray them at all to any extreme.
